MOU SIGNING BETWEEN UMK - KPN FOR UNITY INITIATIVES IN KELANTAN PENGKALAN CHEPA

7 September I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and the Ministry of National Unity (MNU) have identified several scientific studies to be carried out comprehensively in an effort to formulate a unity and integration agenda at the national level.


Minister of National Unity, YB Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique said, UMK is the second university after Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) which helps the MNU for the implementation of a comprehensive study based on facts.


She said this cooperation is expected to help the ministry formulate more approaches including national unity policy.


"Through this cooperation, MNU hopes that the study conducted by UMK can help in the development of the draft National Unity Action Plan (PTPN) 2021-2025 which will be presented at the end of this year," she said at the Launching Ceremony of PTPN Kelantan State Feedback Session and Signing Ceremony Agreement of Understanding (MoU) between MNU and UMK at Dewan Keusahawanan UMK, City Campus, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan, today.


According to YB Datuk Halimah, this feedback session was held in all states to gather input on the people's understanding of the ideals of the Rukun Negara as well as the proposed programme that can be implemented to achieve the goal of unity.


Meanwhile, UMK and the Ministry of National Unity (MNU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form cooperation involving unity activities and national integration organised jointly.


The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of UMK, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail while MNU was represented by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Unity, Datuk Wan Suraya Wan Radzi and witnessed by the Minister of National Unity, YB. Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique and Menteri Besar of Kelantan, YAB Dato’ Bentara Kanan, Ustaz Dato' Hj. Ahmad Yakob.


Also present, the Chairman of the Community Unity, Culture, Heritage and Tourism Committee, YB Major (B) Dato’ Haji Md. Anizam bin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah and Senior Division Secretary, Ministry of National Unity, Puan Zahariah Mohd Sarif.


Through the MoU, UMK will be the main driver of cooperation involving national unity and integration activities in the state of Kelantan.


According to Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi, this MoU collaboration makes UMK and MNU as strategic partners in implementing activities related to national unity and integration.

He said UMK is very proud of the trust given by the MNU to carry out cooperation in the field of research and publications related to unity which will contribute to efforts in increasing unity and preserve community harmony.


Through the MoU, the University also benefits in the field of human capital development through the placement of students and staff of UMK to obtain guidance, improve new knowledge and skills regarding aspects of unity management at MNU.


"Both parties will also together increase social capital through the implementation of programmes and activities organised jointly to further strengthen the spirit of unity and goodwill in the community," he said.
According to Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi, the draft National Unity Action Plan (PTPN) 2021 - 2025 is the MNU's strategic plan to implement the National Unity Policy to ensure harmony, happiness and well-being among Malaysians, including in the state of Kelantan.


“Therefore, this feedback session is important to receive suggestions or views of the community in this state before being presented to the government.


"The geographical position of Kelantan, makes the unity between the races in this state special compared to other states,” he said.

MAJLIS MENANDATANGANI MoU ANTARA UMK DAN KPN BERFIKIR PERPADUAN BERSAMA RAKYAT

PENGKALAN CHEPA 6 September I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) dan Kementerian Perpaduan Negara (KPN) telah mengenalpasti beberapa kajian ilmiah untuk dilaksanakan secara menyeluruh dalam usaha merangka agenda perpaduan dan intergrasi di peringkat nasional.

Menteri Perpaduan Negara, YB Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique berkata, UMK adalah universiti kedua selepas Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) yang membantu KPN bagi pelaksanaan kajian menyeluruh berdasarkan fakta.

Katanya, kerjasama ini diharap dapat membantu kementerian merangka lebih banyak pendekatan termasuk dasar perpaduan negara.

"Melalui kerjasama ini juga KPN berharap kajian yang dijalankan oleh UMK dapat membantu berhubung pembangunan draf Pelan Tindakan Perpaduan Negara (PTPN) 2021-2025 yang akan dibentangkan pada penghujung tahun Ini,” katanya pada Majlis Pelancaran Sesi Maklum Balas PTPN Peringkat Negeri Kelantan dan Majlis Menandatangani Perjanjian Persefahaman (MoU) antara KPN dan UMK di Dewan Keusahawanan UMK, Kampus Kota, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan, hari ini.

Menurut YB Datuk Halimah, sesi maklumbalas ini diadakan di semua negeri bagi mengumpul input tentang kefahaman rakyat mengenai cita-cita Rukun negara selain cadangan program yang boleh dilaksanakan bagi mencapai tujuan perpaduan.

Sementara itu, UMK dan Kementerian Perpaduan Negara (KPN) telah menandatangani Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) untuk membentuk kerjasama melibatkan aktiviti perpaduan dan integrasi nasional yang dianjurkan secara bersama.

MoU tersebut ditandatangani oleh Naib Canselor UMK, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail manakala KPN diwakili oleh Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Perpaduan Negara, Datuk Wan Suraya Wan Radzi serta disaksikan oleh Menteri Perpaduan Negara, YB. Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique dan Menteri Besar Kelantan,  YAB Dato’ Bentara Kanan, Ustaz Dato’ Hj. Ahmad Yakob.
 
Turut hadir, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Perpaduan Masyarakat, Kebudayaan, Warisan dan Pelancongan, YB Mejar (B) Dato' Haji Md. Anizam bin Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan dan Inovasi), Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah dan Setiausaha Bahagian Kanan, Kementerian Perpaduan Negara, Puan Zahariah Mohd Sarif.
 
Menerusi MoU itu, UMK akan menjadi penggerak utama kepada kerjasama membabitkan aktiviti perpaduan dan intergrasi nasional di negeri Kelantan.
 
Menurut Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi, kerjasama MoU ini menjadikan UMK dan KPN sebagai rakan strategik dalam melaksanakan aktiviti berkaitan perpaduan dan intergrasi nasional.
 
Katanya, UMK amat berbangga dengan kepercayaan yang diberikan oleh KPN bagi menjalankan kerjasama dalam bidang penyelidikan dan penerbitan berkaitan perpaduan yang akan menyumbang kepada usaha-usaha meningkatkan kesepaduan dan memelihara keharmonian komuniti.

Menerusi MoU itu, Universiti turut mendapat manfaat dalam bidang pembangunan modal insan melalui penempatan pelajar dan kakitangan UMK untuk mendapatkan bimbingan, meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemahiran baharu berhubung aspek pengurusan perpaduan di KPN.

“Kedua-dua pihak juga akan bersama-sama meningkatkan modal sosial melalui pelaksanaan program dan aktiviti yang dianjurkan secara bersama bagi mengukuhkan lagi semangat perpaduan dan muhibah dalam komuniti,” katanya.

Menurut Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi, draf Pelan Tindakan Perpaduan Negara (PTPN) 2021 – 2025 ini adalah perancangan strategik KPN untuk melaksanakan Dasar Perpaduan Nasional demi memastikan keharmonian, kebahagiaan dan kesejahteraan dalam kalangan rakyat Malaysia termasuk di negeri Kelantan.
 
“Justeru, sesi maklumbalas ini adalah penting untuk menerima cadangan atau pandangan masyarakat di negeri ini sebelum dibentangkan kepada kerajaan.
 
“Kedudukan geografi Kelantan, menjadikan perpaduan antara kaum di  negeri ini istimewa berbanding negeri-negeri lain,” katanya.

UMK and Strategic Partners Cooperate to Organise CEO @ Faculty Entrepreneurship Programme

KUALA LUMPUR 23 August I As strategic partners, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and Technoriant Sdn. Bhd and PKT Logistics Group will continue to work together to implement various academic and entrepreneurship programmes even at difficult times during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thus, the UMK delegation led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah has paid an official visit to the offices of both industry partners as a sign of the closeness of the relationship.

The visit was also attended by the Senior Director of UMKEI Entrepreneurship Institute, Prof. Dr. Nik Maheran Nik Muhammad, Director of Centre of University Industry Collaboration (CUIC), Dr. Shah Iskandar Fahmie Ramlee and UMKEI Deputy Registrar, Puan Alifah Adnan.

Industry partners are Dato 'Bruce Lim (Technoriant Sdn. Bhd.) And PKT Logistic Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Micheal Tio (DMT).

Both parties have welcomed UMK's intention to organise Collaseum The Arena Entrepreneurship and Business Pitching programme which will be held through a webinar.

This programme has received the cooperation of Growth Malaysia under the auspices of Dato’ Bruce Lim himself.

Meanwhile, Dato Micheal Tio who is a successful entrepreneur and entrepreneur sifu of the country will rock the public university campus in Malaysia with the Entrepreneurship programme run by himself.

Certainly, these programmes that will be implemented can give an impact to UMK students and even the whole country towards producing graduates who have the thinking and culture of entrepreneurs.

Students are not only guided to become entrepreneurs but they can create job opportunities and create new innovations in accordance with the needs of society in the future.
