BACHOK 21 April, The Islamic Centre of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (PIUMK) is aiming to raise RM100,000.00 for the 1441H / 2020M Ihya’ Ramadan Fund to ensure the completion of the planned programme for Ramadan this year.

UMK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail said that every month of Ramadan, the Ramadan Ihya Fund is launched to facilitate activities throughout the month.

He said, as we know, this year's Ramadan celebration is a bit different because of the COVID-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) at UMK.

“This year, PIUMK is aiming for RM100,000.00 to cover various activities planned throughout the month of Ramadan. This monetary donation will be used solely for the preparation of Ramadan Iftar and pre-dawn meal for students who were still in residential colleges during the MCO period.

“Information on the fund has been distributed to all UMK members and the outside community to donate in conjunction with the approaching Ramadan month. I was informed by PIUMK that the donation of the Ihya’ Ramadan Fund could also be channelled online to ease donors,” he said at the Ramadan 1441H Arrival Special Speech and Launching of the Ihya’ Ramadan Fund and UMK COVID 19@Ramadan Zakat Relief, at the PIUMK Office, UMK Bachok, on 19 April 2020.

Also present were the Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Ts. Dr. Zaliman Sauli and PIUMK Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azhar Muhammad

At the same event, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi also presented the UMK COVID-19 @ Ramadan Zakat relief to UMK students who received Study Support Assistance and 20 contract staff who received Cleaning Staff Assistance.

According to Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi, during the MCO period UMK staff as civil servants, are not affected with the basic needs as the government provided various incentives but imagine the people out there who are most affected by the COVID-19 virus situation.

“InshaAllah, with the sincere effort of launching the Ihya’ Ramadan Fund and the charity donations can ease the burden of the less fortunate.

“The fund is open until the end of Ramadan to encourage UMK and the community to contribute and celebrate the virtues of this blessed month,” he said.

In another development, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi also presented the contribution of the Sinar Ramadan Tour to the asnaf in the area of UMK Bachok.
