UMK LANCAR PROGRAM BARANG ASAS (BA) 100 BANTU RINGAN BEBAN SARA HIDUP B40

PENGKALAN CHEPA 15 Januari I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) menjadi universiti pertama di kalangan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi melancarkan Program Barang Asas (BA) 100 bagi membantu mengurangkan kos sara hidup masyarakat terutamanya kepada golongan B40.

Pelaksanaan Program BA 100, itu diurus oleh Coopmart Koperasi UMK Berhad dengan kerjasama Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (ANGKASA) yang menawarkan pelbagai barangan keperluan harian asas pada harga antara 10 hingga 20 peratus lebih murah berbanding produk lain.

Naib Canselor UMK, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail berkata, pemilihan UMK sebagai universiti pertama dalam kalangan IPT Malaysia dan pertama di Kelantan yang menawarkan Program BA 100 adalah bertepatan dengan konsep universiti untuk masyarakat khususnya untuk membantu meringankan kos sara hidup masyarakat di kawasan sekitar Kampung Hujung Repek dan Bachok amnya.

Katanya, penglibatan Koperasi UMK Berhad dalam bidang peruncitan adalah langkah untuk menaik taraf hidup Warga koperasi dan masyarakat dengan hasrat menggalakkan ahli-ahlinya terlibat dalam aktiviti keusahawanan.

“Ini merupakan satu lonjakan dan perancangan jangka panjang untuk mengalihkan kebergantungan koperasi tidak lagi hanya menyediakan kemudahan pinjaman pengguna semata-mata kepada ahli.

“Bidang Peruncitan merupakan salah satu daripada fokus perancangan Koperasi UMK Berhad untuk tahun ini disamping servis kredit pengguna, latihan dan konsultasi, projek penternakan, hartanah, dan projek pengkomersialan,” katanya pada Majlis Pelancaran Program Barang Asas 100 (BA 100) Peringkat IPT Malaysia, di CoopMart Koperasi UMK Berhad, Bachok, Kelantan, hari ini.

Majlis pelancaran tersebut telah disempurnakan oleh Presiden ANGKASA, Dato’ Haji Abdul Fattah Haji Abdullah.

Turut hadir, Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan dan Inovasi), Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah dan Pengerusi Koperasi UMK Berhad, Prof. Madya Dr. Mohammad Ismail, Naib Presiden ANGKASA, Dr. Mohd Azlan Yahya dan Penasihat Korporat ANGKASA (Sektor Kerajaan), Datuk Ahmad Jamil Hashim.

Dalam pada itu, Dato’ Hj. Abdul Fattah berkata, program Pembekalan Barangan Asas 100 atau lebih dikenali sebagai BA100 merupakan satu program bersepadu yang diperkenalkan oleh ANGKASA dalam usaha berterusannya untuk menggerakkan perniagaan koperasi terutama membantu dan menawarkan penjualan barangan asas dengan harga berpatutan.

Katanya, program Barang Asas 100 (BA 100) diperkenalkan dengan menyasarkan golongan berpendapatan rendah (B40) khususnya penduduk di bandar dan luar bandar. Program ini berteraskan E-dagang yang akan mengumpulkan belian barang asas secara pukal mengikut permintaan kira-kira 3,000 koperasi runcit di seluruh negara.

Sementara itu, pada satu majlis lain yang berlangsung di Bangunan Canselori, UMK Bachok. Pihak ANGKASA dan UMK telah bersetuju untuk menjalinkan kerjasama bagi memperkasa kualiti pengurusan sumber manusia dan meningkatkan kemampanan industri koperasi melalui kerjasama penyelidikan dan khidmat nasihat.

Melalui kerjasama itu membolehkan UMK sebagai pusat rujukan pertama berkaitan dengan pengurusan koperasi sekaligus berupaya melestarikan peranan UMK selaku Universiti Keusahawanan.

HELPING TO GENERATE THE ORANG ASLI ECONOMY PROVES UMK CARES


JELI 13 January| Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) will provide technical expertise and skills in the agriculture and livestock industry to help the Orang Asli economy develop a source of income to support everyday living.


UMK is ready to provide advice and guidance on agricultural management and livelihood through proper guidance through the expertise of academicians and lecturers at the Faculty of Industrial Industries (FIAT) in Jeli.


In this regard, UMK in collaboration with the Jeli Parliamentary Service Centre and the Aboriginal Development Department (JAKOA) distributed 2,000 organic chickens to 100 Indigenous families in conjunction with the Universiti Bersama Masyarakat Programme or UMK4SOCIETY organised by the Student Affairs & Alumni Office (HEPA) with the Orang Asli Community at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Rual, Jeli on 13 January 2020.


Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Ts. Dr. Zaliman Sauli said a total of 20 organic chicken breeds including coop and feed were distributed to 100 participants, including the Head of Household (KIR) at the Rancangan Kampung Baru (RKB) Sungai Rual, to raise additional income for the Orang Asli in the village.


He said the initiative was one of the efforts that involved all parties to contribute to community development.


"Thus, various elements of development that we see in many communities have been incorporated into the implementation of this initiative to help improve knowledge, skills and good relationships in the community, which is an important factor in the context of community development," he said after the Organic Chicken Breeding Information and Guidance Programme to Orang Asli, at SK Sungai Rual, Jeli, on 13 January 2020.


Also present was SK Sungai Rual Headmaster, En. Mohd Zamzuri Anuar Che Zainal, Jeli Member of Parliament, Ustaz Dr. Mohd Nasir Mohd Nor and Head of Jeli Polytechnic Research and Innovation Unit, En. Mohd Sumazlin Mohamed.


During the briefing, a total of 100 participants were given a brief presentation on the basis of organic chicken farming, and a demonstration through the guidance of organic chicken husbandry management by FIAT lecturers on organising organic chicken farming and management training including routine chicken care schedule. UMK4SOCIETY is a CSR programme by HEPA staff to reach out to the indigenous Orang Asli community including motivational programmes and sports activities for Orang Asli students involving the entire Section / Division / Centre under the HEPA Office.


Various interesting activities were held including sports events with Orang Asli students, counselling module administration, colouring activities and training of Orang Asli students in archery techniques and sepak takraw with the guidance of UMK Sports Unit staff. In the afternoon, there is also a gotong-royong activity in Lata Janggut picnic area.


According to Prof. Ts. Dr. Zaliman, organising this programme not only strengthen our own relationships with UMK staff but also builds character and understands the concept of cooperation and helping one another.


He said the contributions were not based on money but rather on contributions in the form of energy, knowledge and skills to share.

UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA KELANTAN GLORIOUS TRIUMPHANT AT ASIA PACIFIC TRIPLE E AWARDS 2020

Universiti Malaysia Kelantan achieved significant milestone by winning three titles at Asia Pacific Triple E Awards 2020, the Premier Awards for Entrepreneurship and Engagement Excellence in Higher Education. The award ceremony was held in Kochi, India. This marks a great beginning for year 2020. ??
 
According to the Chair of Accreditation Council For Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), Prof Dr Thorsten Kliewe, the organizer received more than 300 submissions from 50 over higher education institutions in Asia Pacific region competing for 12 categories in Triple E Awards. The competition was intense and community votes were garnered through social media to promote publicity and visibility for the finalists. 
 
Out of the seven submissions, three entries by UMK were shortlisted in last December 2019 as one of the top five entries, in the category of Entrepreneurial Leader Award, Entrepreneurship Educator Award and Student-Driven Sustainability Project Award. 
 
At the award ceremony, Social Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED) Program of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr Wee Yu Ghee, Director of UMK International, won the first place and SEED was hailed as the best 'Student-Driven Sustainability Project of the Year'. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Nik Maheran Nik Muhammad, Senior Director, UMK Entrepreneurship Institute won third prize in the category of Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year Award and Ts. Dr. Muhammad Ashlyzan Razik, a finalist for Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year Award. 
 
In conjunction with the Asia Pacific Triple E Awards Ceremony, the 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Globalization took place at the same venue from January 9 to 13, 2020. Prof. Dr. Nik Maheran presented an academic paper entitled Entrepreneurial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Education for Future Society: The Malaysian Perspective and participated in pecha kucha best practices whereby she pitched six minutes on UMK Entrepreneurship Education Model.
 
With this accomplishment, UMK is on its way to attain ACEEU accreditation, a route to championing entrepeneurship education and affirming its status as an entrepreneurial university.
